Spent last weekend in a li’l Marriott hotel in Burbank for the second annual Creative Talent Network Animation Expo. Strictly speaking from the stance of a certified Booth Babe who happens to have a solid deal of event planning experience, it was ill run. BUT, the talent in the convention center was filled to the brim, and I mustered enough falsified courage to put my stalker hat on and stop some stylish people in their tracks.
So here are the things I liked:
Holly’s layered tights:
Edward’s scarf. Apparently his stylist made it –
I know how to pick ’em!
This girl’s total vintage mishmash.
And her “smorkin’ pipe.”
Lauren’s hair, cape, and super friendly personality!
I missed getting snaps of two particular outfits. (Standing behind a booth armed with nothing but an iPhone 3G S is not the most ideal in photographing street style.) One was a dapper-looking speaker-man who seemed to be a bit of a big wig. I noticed him when he was noticing my new Hellz shirt. Wearing a sharp grey suit with a polka dot tie, the real moment in the outfit was his super pointy Alexander McQueen Pumas. Yes, he was wearing PumaAMQ! And I was wearing mine, too! Alas, the booth was busy and I was only able to admire his footwear choice from afar. I can only pretend to be on the same level as him as animators who knew who he was kept flocking to his side.
The second outfit that I missed was a girl with an extreme, sharply angled bob. She had two bleached peek-a-boos in her hair on one side (Sound familiar?) and a super drapey black cape-like thing. (Sound familiar?) She looked like a superhero. I wanted to be her, but both times that I saw her and left the table to approach her, she rounded the corner with great speed.
Ah well. Well played, everyone.
