Sunday is the second and last day of the Oakland Museum Women’s Board’s White Elephant Sale. It can be overwhelming, but if you have the time, there are some amazing pieces of furniture and art – and they could potentially be acquired at amazing deals.
I’m losing a bit of sleep over this piece:
We totally don’t have a vintage/antique vibe in our house, but I love it so much. It’s in the triple digits ($300, I think.), but the craftsmanship and design! I could be swayed, but I’m sure laziness will win me over.
And this (truly!) treasure chest:
Darn that we already have a chest! I love all the compartments (That’s a four-compartment tray on top of another removable tray – and, of course, the rest of the inside.) and how ancient it feels.
I went home with a couple of jewelry boxes (I’m in reorgnization overhaul mode.), a simple jewelry chain, a quirky ram, and an “I don’t know why or why not” cigar box. In other non-news, Bill brought home two armfuls of books.
More pics of the possible finds that are awaiting you here in my Flickr set.
The ladies are so cute:
