Om nom nom…
The first Papparich bun was introduced in Korea in 2007. The answer to our bun’s growing popularity is the balance between the mocha cream paste which is layered over a round dough and closely watched as its baked, creating a crispy exterior and the soft buttery interior.
At the moment I don’t have the time or money to go to Korea, but at least “The Father of All Buns” is just a six-and-a-half hour drive away if I really really want some slightly sweet bread product with melted butter on the inside.
If you’re headed to a gathering where you want to make a good impression, I suggest ordering at least half a dozen buns. PappaRich has such an adorable carrying crate for six- and twelve-bun orders. I kept mine, and it is happily masquerading as a file organizer.
Also, there was this really cute little Korean girl the last time I went and I snuck a photo of her adorable cheeks. I swear I left it at that!
